The kit is the 1/72 Trumpeter M4A3. Not a bad kit, but the rubber tracks didn't like Tamiya Thin Cement and snapped at the link.

I built it with all hatches closed and used the solid molded bogies the kit provides. I added balsa wood on the sides, the hatch spikes (way over scale) are .020 rod, one of the rolls is a ladies hose, tied with string, and thinned white glue, the other two rolls are tissue and glue and the sandbags are Milliput. Since I was doing a USMC Sherman at Iwo Jima, I scratched the wading stack from sheet styrene and the wire mesh is mosquito netting. I still have a couple of barrels to add and not sure if I will add the turret hatch spikes.

The markings are all hand painted to represent a tank from the USMC 5th Tank Battalion, Iwo Jima.
