2cm MG151/20 Fla SL 151 (Drilling)

CMK previously released a conversion set for the SdKfz 251/21 (SP72015 - see here and here). One could therefore be forgiven for thinking that this set is just the Drilling from that set, minus the shields and other bits that should go on the halftrack. Nothing could be farther from the truth, as this is a completely new set, correcting most errors of the SdKfz251/21 set. (I will go into more detail when I build and review it in an upcoming article.)

What surprises me even more is that CMK decided to make a more accurate set, but will not be using the newer parts to improve the SdKfz 251/21 set (at least not according to a spokesperson at CMK). Until they change their minds, the best (and very expensive way) for the modeler to get an accurate SdKfz 251/21 is to use this set, parts of SP72015, and scratchbuild other parts. Then again, thinking of it, I am not so sure I will actually be using any parts of SP72015 when I decide to build another 251/21. This set and some scratchbuilding will probably be the better way to go.

Conclusion
A major improvement over their previous Drilling, which sadly will only be available as a stand-alone set. Highly recommended nevertheless.
