Beautiful turned brass pieces. Set comes with 14 complete shells. Can anyone tell me if the little brass nubs at the end of the shells are supposed to be there? Are these some sort of electrode where a control wire is supposed to attach? Or are these simply residue from the brass rod, and need to be snipped off?
