This small set contains only five figures: enough for a single Pak 40 gun crew. This set is probably the weakest set I have seen from Preiser, in that the figures have fairly indistinct uniform and equipment details, and there are so few of them. I think that this lack of detail was due to a trade-off between detail and realistic poses. The figures are all in very life-like and specific poses, and their use for anything other than a gun crew will be limited. But that is not to say that these are bad figures, which they certainly are not. For the same reasons that the detail is softly molded, it will also be very hard to see, so with a good paint job, as well as perhaps some individual kit and accessories from Preiser's earlier sets, these figures should turn out excellent. Thank you, once again, to Thomas Braden for providing this review set. |
