Introduction
During the siege of
Leningrad, many tanks were modified in the city. A number of T-26's
were "screened" with add-on armor plates of different shape.
Contents
This kit represents a T-26 model 1939 with additional armor
welded directly on the hull and partially spaced around the turret.
The plastic parts are from the well-known ex-Skif kit. (Ed. note:
these were also released under the Mirage label. See here,
here, here
or here.)
UM already released it as Kit No. 218. There are a few differences:
the fenders and driver's hatch in the original Skif release were in
PE, in this kit they are made from plastic. There are new link and
length tracks and no longer any horrible rubber bands. The biggest
difference is the large PE fret with parts for add-on armor. There
is also a smaller PE fret with parts for the driving wheels and various
tiny bits like towing hooks or exhaust holders.
Markings
A generic decal set for Soviet vehicles is provided, but
it is unnecessary, because there is only one color scheme for an overall
green vehicle without any markings. There is another vehicle in winter
whitewash shown on the box art, but again without any markings.
